Kendra Mayall joined the team as the General Manager at the Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community on September 19. As the General Manager, Kendra will supervise and lead the Assisted Living team. Additionally, she will create and maintain a vibrant living environment for Assisted Living residents.
Rockingham County embraces a diverse set of skills and experiences when considering filling open positions. “Throughout the competitive selection process, Kendra stood out as the candidate who exemplified the spirit of our organization,” said Jason Smith, Senior Director of Long-Term Care Services. “She is passionate about resident-centered care and has a demonstrated talent for cultivating relationships with residents, families, and associates.”
Kendra previously worked at Avita of Wells, a Memory Care Community, where she worked as the Director of Business. In that role, Kendra worked closely with the Executive Director to foster a fulfilling environment for residents and staff. Kendra has a deep knowledge of assisted living, memory care, and long-term care. She’s also familiar with Rockingham County itself, having started her career by enrolling in Rockingham County’s Licensed Nursing Assistant Training Program back in 2009.
The Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community is located inside the Rockingham County Long-Term Care Services campus. The community is a residence for older adults that offers services that support continued independence. A wide array of activities, amenities, and services are combined with clinical support to promote residents’ quality of life. With only 49 resident beds, it’s an an inclusive setting where residents feel like they belong.
