Rockingham County Joins Seacoast Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Raising Over $3,000 for the Cause
Brentwood, NH – This past weekend, a dedicated team from Rockingham County participated in the Seacoast Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Portsmouth, NH. Comprised of employees, their families, residents, and resident family members, the Rockingham County team came together in full force to support the cause. The team raised over $3,000 through their team and individual fundraising efforts.
The team’s participation in the event reflects their personal connection to the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. “We see the impact of dementia every day,” said one team member. “Partaking in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a way for us to honor those we care for.”
In the months leading up to the walk, team members worked to raise awareness and funds through a variety of activities, including raffles, dress-down days, and community events. Their fundraising initiatives led to a significant contribution, showing how small efforts can come together to make a big difference.
“Events like the Walk to End Alzheimer’s remind us of the power of community,” said Jeseca Wendel, Rockingham County’s Public Relations and Community Outreach Manager. “No one is in this fight alone. Together, we are making a difference.”
A special highlight of the Seacoast Walk was Governor Sununu’s attendance, who not only shared words of encouragement and support for all involved, but also spoke about the important state-level policies that will help support older adults in New Hampshire.
About the Walk to End Alzheimer’s
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event aimed at raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The event unites people from all walks of life, each walking to honor those affected by the disease and to support efforts to find a cure.
