Rockingham County Rehabilitation, Nursing Center, and Assisted Living Community raises funds for senior living residents in heartwarming fundraising effort
Valentine’s Day at our senior living community was filled with love, generosity, and beautiful roses, thanks to our annual Valentine’s Day Roses Fundraiser! Organized by an internal employee resource group, this heartwarming initiative raised an impressive $1,000 for the organization’s Resident Fund.
The fundraiser invited staff, families, and community members to purchase a rose for a resident or coworker, allowing them to share a thoughtful gesture with someone special. But the generosity didn’t stop there. In addition to individual rose sales, we received donations and pledges that made it possible for every resident in our senior living community to receive a rose, ensuring that no one was left out of the Valentine’s Day celebration.
Our team hand-delivered the roses on Valentine’s Day, brightening the day of each resident and staff member who received one. In total, over 600 roses were distributed across the County campus.
“The sight of residents and employees holding their roses, sharing stories, and feeling appreciated was a beautiful reminder of what makes our community so special,” said Jeseca Wendel, public relations and community outreach manager at the center.
The Resident Fund, which benefits from this fundraiser, plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of those in our care by supporting special programs, events, and enrichment activities that make every day more meaningful. Those who contributed to the fundraiser will present a check with the proceeds to the residents at their next Resident Council meeting.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make this event possible. Your support continues to enhance the lives of our residents and make Rockingham a place filled with kindness and connection.
