Rockingham County has partnered with local LNA Programs in New Hampshire to help individuals obtain their LNA license. Our program will provide you with the basic nursing skills to prepare you for a successful career in healthcare. After receipt of their LNA License, students are required to work full-time at Rockingham County for one consecutive year as an LNA.

A Day In the Life As an LNA student

Accepted students will take online theory classes and in-person clinicals at a local LNA Program to learn the required skills to become an LNA. While taking classes, students have the option of working at Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center as a Temporary Universal Worker. 

Course Requirements

  • 50-60 hours of online theory
  • Up to 24 hours of in-person, pre-clinical laboratory
  • 60 hours of on-site clinical
  • State test after completion of the course and successful passing of the exam within 3 attempts during the span of 3 months
  • Continued full-time employment for 1 consecutive year at Rockingham County as an LNA upon receipt of license

Qualified candidates must fill out an application through the Rockingham County Career Portal. In addition to the application, applicants must include a brief essay (up to 200 words) answering the following:

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or GED (or be currently working toward one)
  • Pass a background check and drug screening

Graduates who successfully complete the program and obtain their LNA certification are offered a position at the Rockingham County Nursing Home.
