Rockingham County Launches Licensed Nursing Assistant Apprentice Program

Applicants Can Obtain Nursing Assistant Licenses for Free

[Brentwood, NH] — Rockingham County is excited to announce a new and improved Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) Apprentice Program. The LNA Apprentice Program will offer comprehensive training and hands-on experience, allowing participants to learn from experienced partners in a supportive environment. Upon successful completion of the program, apprentices will receive their LNA licenses, fully funded by Rockingham County.

Students may choose from a variety of LNA programs across the state based on their locations and schedules. Rockingham County’s partner programs include: LNA Health Careers, Manchester Community College, NHTI Community College, and Great Bay Community College. Accepted students will take online theory classes and in-person clinicals administered by instructors at one of these approved programs. This hybrid model aims to ensure participants can balance their education with other commitments.

“Our apprentice program not only addresses the growing demand for skilled nursing assistants in New Hampshire but also provides a pathway for individuals to start a rewarding career in healthcare,” said Michele Melanson Schmitt, Director of Clinical Services at Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. “We believe that by investing in the education and training of future nursing assistants, we can make a significant impact on the state’s aging population.”
