Rockingham County is pleased to announce the addition of four new hospice rooms to the long-term care community. These rooms will be specifically designed to provide comfort to residents during end of life care. Rockingham County has partnered with Wellesley Design Consultants to complete the redesign of the hospice rooms.
The new hospice rooms will be tailored to meet the unique needs of hospice patients. Each room will be designed to promote a sense of calm and relaxation with soft lighting, soothing colors and comfortable furniture. Additionally, the hospice rooms will provide residents and their families with a private and peaceful environment.
“At its core, hospice care is about giving the highest level of support to our residents and their families,” said Jason Smith, Senior Director of Long-Term Care Services. “These new rooms will enable us to better meet those needs during the end of life journey.”
Rockingham County previously worked with Wellesley Design Consultants to refurbish multiple common spaces in its Assisted Living Community. “The team at Wellesley Design Consultants are senior living experts,” continued Smith. “They have provided fresh ideas and unique insights to the project.”
The redesign of the hospice rooms is expected to be completed by late fall 2023.
“The goal of the renovations of the hospice suites and family room is to create spaces with the care of the resident, family, and staff in mind,” said Dawn Horan, Interior Designer and Project Manager of Wellesley Design Consultants. “We design timeless spaces that are durable, inviting, quiet, and feel fresh for years.”
